A counselling service for autistic, ADHD, and neurodivergent identifying individuals
Someone who gets you
As a late diagnosed person with AuDHD (autism and ADHD combined), I personally understand what it’s like to experience the world in an incredibly vivid and overwhelming way, and how alienating it is to discover that most people don’t experience the world as intensely as you do. Where other people seem to go through life effortlessly, day to day living can often be a profound struggle just to function for many neurodivergent individuals, who are constantly bombarded with an array of complex feelings and emotions that other’s don’t seem to experience. This is especially taxing in the ultra fast-paced and hyper-competitive society we live in, which is often incredibly demanding, and can easily leave you feeling left behind and struggling to keep up.
Being the black sheep or the outsider
As a neurodivergent person, you may have grown up feeling like you were always ‘too much’ or that you were too sensitive, and that you have had a level of empathy for people and animals that could at times be crippling, possessing a strong sense of justice towards indifference and cruelty. You may have often found yourself being the black-sheep of your family and social circles, frequently exhausted from navigating social interactions that leave you feeling alone, lost and confused. You may have gone through life feeling profoundly unseen and like no one seems to understand you; almost as if you were from a foreign culture compared to those around you, left on the outside looking in at the world.
Finding support that affirms and empowers you
Navigating the world as a neurodivergent person with little or no support is an incredibly challenging experience. Whether you self-identify or have a formal diagnosis, my aim as a counselor is to provide guidance from the perspective of being a fellow neurodivergent person who has experienced these challenges first hand. Whether you are coming to terms with being neurodivergent, or wish to seek counselling from another neurodivergent person who may be able to better relate to you, I am here to support you.
